Chair of the committee

Our founding chair is retiring. We want someone who can steer a small, passionate group towards becoming a registered charity.

All roles on Causework need at least three years of professional experience in the skills listed.

What will you be doing?

Chair a monthly evening meeting at the community centre, represent the group at council and museum meetings, and lead the work to register with the Charity Commission.

What are we looking for?

Experience chairing a board or committee, and enough governance knowledge to guide a group through charity registration. We especially welcome applicants with family history in the docks.

What difference will you make?

Registration opens up grants we cannot currently touch, which would let us digitise forty hours of recordings before the tapes degrade.

Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm in Butetown. Please come along to one first.
