Treasurer and trustee
Our treasurer is stepping down after six years. We need a qualified accountant to chair the finance sub-committee and keep a growing food bank on a sound footing.
All roles on Causework need at least three years of professional experience in the skills listed.
What will you be doing?
You will present the quarterly management accounts to the board, work with our part-time bookkeeper on the annual return, and lead the review of our reserves policy. Board meetings are every other month, half online and half in Manchester.
What are we looking for?
A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least three years of post-qualification experience. Charity accounting experience is welcome but not essential; we will pay for the Charity Commission training.
What difference will you make?
Funders ask harder questions every year. A confident treasurer means we can say yes to a second delivery van and a paid coordinator without gambling with the money that buys food.
Before you apply
We will invite shortlisted candidates to observe a board meeting before either side commits. Trustees must be eligible to act under charity law.
